The thoughts of an aspiring creative

Entry 2: Coffee

Everything about this drop was about establishing the brand and building on the foundations that we had set. Yes, we introduced ourselves to the world, and yes Genesis was a huge success with us selling out all our stock (which is a mind blowing achievement.) But this drop was to prove that we had the capability to show more. Off first glance it may look like all we did was change the colour way to our existing design, but Coffee offered so much more, the warm brown colour tones offered a completely different vibe to the piece. Allowing a completely different range of options to style the knit with, all while still keeping all the things that make the knit iconic. To be honest this design surprised me when I eventually got it made because, seeing it in your head is one thing but seeing it in real life, seeing members of the Secure family wear it, just takes it to the next level. People that know me are gonna ask which one do I prefer “Genesis” or “Coffee”, and to that I laugh because that’s like picking between your children. But honestly my response to them

Is get both.

Yours sincerely

Entry 1: Genesis

The start of anything is always difficult and this was no different. I think especially for Secure it was so important that we got off on the right foot. As I recognised the importance of a good first impression. Its funny cause even as i write this I still cant believe that Secure is actually a thing. That i finally took the step to take those ideas i used to daydream about and actually make them a reality. But i always said that if i ever did go through with it, that i was gonna give it my all and not cut any corners whatsoever. So if that was in my design process, my strive for quality, or even in the customers experience as a whole, every aspect had to have that stroke of excellence. When designing the Genesis A.F.G.N knit i knew that if i wanted to make something that would one day be seen as iconic, I had to firstly make sure the knit represented everything I wanted secure to be. It had to be classy, fashionable, obviously have the streetwear influence but also stand out as a statement on its own. And every decision made concerning the design had that in mind. The 'After God, Fear Nothing' phrase represents everything it took to get Secure out there, all the doubts I had to conquer and the steps it took to 'Unlock my Potential', hoping it inspires you to do the same. I am so proud of the response this drop received, seeing people appreciate the knit and style it, making it their own has even inspired me in so many ways. The community that we are starting to build with "The Secure Family" is something i am so excited to see grow and build, the sky is truly the limit.

So thats our start, glad with how its gone and hungry for more.

Speak to you soon.
